Highlife Legend Daddy Lumba has revealed what inspired him to write a song that is to this day considered one of his best songs ever written ‘Theresa Abrebrese’
According to Daddy Lumba, she represented his first love as she was unlike anything he had ever seen in a woman and has now lifted the lid off how he met a woman who would go on to influence him in major ways
In a new interview shared via his Youtube page, Daddy Lumba stated “In 1983, I left Gyamase Secondary to Juaben. One of my teachers named Mr Oshow transferred me to the school after he ha also been transferred there. It was at Juaben that I met this amazing woman who had everything I had never seen in a woman before”
The Highlife legend would continue by adding “If we are talking of someone I met and actually loved, that would be Theresa. She was my first love”.
Daddy Lumba also revealed she facilitated his first trip outside the country to Germany and that was his first big opportunity in Life hence his eternal gratitude to a woman he loved
Daddy Lumba concluded by revealing he has never being able to perform a this song due to the emotional ties he has to the song but would one day “Looking at how pretty, how empathetic and how smart she was and knowing that a woman of Theresa’s caliber is no longer in this world, I feel pained whenever I play the song. I’ve never been able to perform it on stage before but I will do well to perform it one day in her honor”
