Ghanaian lady set to break Guinness World Record for longest Sing-a-thon

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Askof Productions Limited and organizer of GOWA Awards, Miss Kidi Ghana and Teen Queen Ghana is set to attempt to break a Guinness world record for the longest singing marathon by an individual this December.

Ms Aduonum sent in her application for the attempt and has been approved by the Guinness World Record board.

Ms Aduonum is expected to sing for over 117hours or more in order to break the current record.

The longest singing marathon by an individual lasted 105 hours and was achieved by Sunil Waghmare (India) in Nagpur, India, from 3 to 7 March 2012.

Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram, Ms Aduonum explained that she was attempting to break this record to promote Ghana music to the world.

“This attempt is strictly for Ghanaian songs, we’re doing this to promote Ghanaian songs, from gospel, highlife, hiplife name it.”

While a specific date has not been shared for the attempt, she revealed the singathon is happening this December.
