Afua Asantewaa O Aduonom, the Ghanaian lady set to break the Guinness World Record longest singing marathon has called out veteran highlife musician, Rex Omar for posting what she says is a confidential document about her upcoming project on social media earlier today.
Afua expressed her displeasure about Rex Omar leaking her list of songs.
On Monday, 18th December 2023, the Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Rex Omar, posted the list of songs to be performed by Afua on Facebook.
He congratulated Afua and her team for doing the right thing.
Rex Omar, who is the Board Chairman of Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) has been heavily criticised for comments in a recent interview with GTV suggesting that GHAMRO could stop Afua’s sing-a-thon competition if she doesn’t do the right thing.
However, his comments appeared to have sparked lots of outrage on social media with many rubbishing his claims as needless and a discouragement for the upcoming sing-a-thon.
After Rex shared the list publicly, Asantewaa complained through the comment section.
“This is supposed to be a confidential document for your outfit so why make it public Sir. This is not acceptable,” she commented.
A few minutes after his post, Rex Omar took it down.
His action has been condemned by many people.
Afua will attempt to pass the 105-hour record from 24th to 27th December 2023.
