The Ghana Police Service have launched a manhunt for those responsible for assaulting Nsoatreman FC’s coach, Maxwell Konadu, after their match against Bofoakwa Tano in Sunyani on Sunday.

The former Kotoko coach was reportedly beaten to a pulp after a goalless draw in a matchday 11 encounter at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Konadu’s ordeal became scary when reports suggested he was unconscious after the incident. However, he is said to have gained consciousness and responding to treatment.

In a statement by the Ghana Police Service, it stated: “The Police are on a manhunt for two persons who attacked the coach of Nsoatreman FC, Mr. Maxwell Konadu, during a football game, yesterday, 19th November 2023, at the Sunyani Coronation Park.”

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have banned Bofoakwa Tano from using the Sunyani Coronation Park until further notice while a statement from the club has condemned the acts of hooliganism.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service are hoping to identify the culprits who initiated the unfortunate incident.
