Women who are supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, hit the streets of the Ashanti region to protest against the results of the just-ended general election.
Dressed in red and black attire, the aggrieved women reechoed the claims of former President John Dramani Mahama saying that the election was flawed.
The women described the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) Jean Mensa’s posture before, during, and after the polls as “shameful”.
“We’re saying that declaration was wrong and so the right thing must be done,” the national women’s organiser of the NDC, Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw said.
The incumbent and NPP Presidential candidate, Akufo-Addo won the elections as the EC announced on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
Mahama rejected the results of the 2020 elections, describing it as fundamentally flawed, arguing that the declaration was a clear violation of the law because the commission did not follow the rules set out to conduct the elections.
