All candidates who sat for the 2020 WASSCE have been warned against any fraudulent attempt to change their grades.
Even as thousands of students performed well in this year’s sitting, the exams regulatory body has warned against any move by students to forge their grades.
In a media circular, the West African Examination Council (WAEC), called for schools to “be wary of fake results websites and activities of fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee. Candidates are to note that all WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated”.
So far, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has cancelled the entire results of Ghanaian candidates who brought mobile phones to their respective examination halls.
This was revealed in a press statement from the WAEC which also shows that 49,721 candidates of the 2020 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in Ghana had F9 in Mathematics.
However, the performance of Ghanaian candidates have improved this year, the performance of students in Maths and Science continues to be a problem. In fact, 73,243 Ghanaian candidates also failed in Integrated Science. In total, 375,763 candidates took part in the 2020 examinations from Ghana.
The good news is that 67 percent of candidates who sat for the Core Mathematics paper scored A1 in the subject with 52 percent scoring A1 in Integrated Science. This makes the 2020 WASSCE one of the best in recent history especially under the Free Education Policy by the government.
Meanwhile, candidates who wish to access their provisional results are to visit www.waecgh.com.
