Qatari giants Al Sadd have announced they have reached an agreement with Ghana captain Andre Ayew to terminate the player’s contract with five months left on his two-year deal.

This was announced on Sunday afternoon via a social media statement.

Andre Ayew joined Al Sadd as a free agent in 2021 after leaving English side Swansea City.

The 33-year-old signed a two-year contract that was set to expire in June of this year, but according to Al Sadd, an agreement has been reached for the contract to be terminated.

“Al-Sadd SC has reached an agreement with Andre Ayew to terminate his contract with the club by mutual consent,” the club said on Twitter.

Ayew scored 22 goals in 38 games for Al Sadd, winning the Qatar Stars League and the Emir Cup in his debut season.

He has been linked with a return to Europe, with boyhood club Marseille reportedly interested.
