Ghanaian media personality, Bridget Otoo has strongly condemned the actions of the military following its ‘revenge’ on residents of Ashaiman after a Soldier was killed by some unknown people in the area saying they wouldn’t have done same if the unfortunate had happened in East Legon

Reacting to the news via her Twitter page, Bridget Otoo tweeted “Forget Ashaiman for a second and insert east legon. A soldier is killed there & as a result the military goes to east legon and assault residents of east legon. It’s Ashaiman so you think they deserve it. We are not being ruled by Military. Or Police no longer investigate crime?”

Many have been wondering if the swoop was indeed an ordered one or it was the military taken things into their own hands as they have the tendency to but a statement from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) suggests the raid was indeed an ordered one.

As of today, the streets of Ashaiman has been dead with silence following the invasion of Soldiers who have been visibly angered by the death of their colleague.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that a uniformed soldier had been killed by some unknown assailants in Ashaiman and the place would be raided in the early hours of Tuesday morning by a group of soldiers stormed the community to enact revenge on civilians.

Many other celebrities like Bridget Otoo has been reacting to the tragic nes including Stonebwoy who released a statement that read “It’s a 9 am in New York and I’m just waking up to the news of what’s going on in my beloved Ashaiman. I unequivocally condemn all acts of violence and lawlessness, whether it relates to the brutalization of innocent civilians or unlawful killing of a member of the armed forces. May all those culpable be found and made to face the law fully”
