The newly opened office in Ghana, for lesbians, homosexual, bisexual and transgender membership has
been ordered by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to be closed down.
According to the Executive secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Moses Foh-Amoaning has told Joy News that the president has ordered the closure of the LGBTQ offices in Accra.
“President Akufo-Addo has directed the closure of LGBTQIA offices in Accra, plain and simple”, he said.
In the meantime, Ghanaians have been urged by LGBTQI Director in Ghana, Alex Kofi
Donkor because some of the identified LGBTQ are verbally and physically attacked in the country.
“We created an office space where we talk about issues which affect us as a community and ways in which we can resolve the issues. Let me quickly say in this country a lot of times we do experience a lot of violence and abuse that are perpetrated towards people who are identified as LGBTQI or people who are perceived as LGBTQI persons.”
