The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has served notice that there will be power cuts in some parts of Accra beginning from Thursday, February 11, 2021 to Friday, March 5 intermittently.
The ECG says that the planned blackout operations is to enable a contractor to begin
excavation works to interconnect load from the Pokuase Bulk Supply Point (BSP) to Kanda and Airport substations.
ECG identified the affected areas, including Parts of the Airport Residential Area, Mamoobi, Air Site Hotel, Accra Girls, ECG Roman Ridge District office, Ebony, Abavana Down, Modex Filling Station, Kotobabi Polyclinic, Alajo, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals and parts of Tesano, in a statement released on Tuesday.
The statement also indicated that the areas will experience a six-hour daily power cut between 10am and 4pm for a period of seven days.
Also, the statement said that the project is aimed at improving reliability and customer end voltage and power supply to the affected areas.
