2023 Budget to be presented in Parliament November 24

The deputy majority leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has said that the Finance Minister,  Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to present the 2023 Budget Statement and Economic Policy on Tuesday, November 24, 2022 barring any unforeseen developments.

Earlier, the Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, had hinted that the presentation of the 2023 Budget Statement and Economic Policy may be delayed by the government because of ongoing negotiations with the International Monetary Fund.

According to Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the delay was also allow cabinet to consider and make input into the programme to be agreed with the IMF before it is incorporated into the 2023 Budget.
Who will read the budget?

Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said the budget is the president’s budget for the ensuing financial year and can be presented by any cabinet minister including the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta come 24 November.

His comment was in response to an enquiry by the minority on who specifically will be reading the 2023 Budget.
