One was reported dead and several others were stuck in an uncompleted church building at Akyem Batabi in the Eastern Region’s Asene Manso Akroso District.
The six-storey building had more than 60 worshipers praying to finish their three-day fasting on Tuesday, October 20, when the building collapsed on them.
Any of the worshipers were able to survive, with many degrees of injuries incurred.
Others were rushed to the Government Hospital of Akyem Oda.
As members of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and other allied organisations work to evacuate them, many of them are now stuck in the debris.
Over the last 28 years, the uncompleted church building has existed and belongs to the Prophet Nakua Isaac.
