Former General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Kwabena Agyapong, has been reinstated into the party following his six years of suspension.
Kwabena Agyapong, Paul Afoko and Sammy Crabbe were all suspended by the National Executive of the party in 2015 for misconduct.
However, the NEC, after a meeting, pardoned Mr Agyapong and welcomed him back into the fold of the party.
Per reports gathered by bibinionline.com, Mr Agyapong consequently becomes a member of NEC, Steering Committee, and the National Council.
The decision by the party to lift the indefinite suspension now paves the way for Mr Agyapong to be accorded the necessary respect and recognition as a former General Secretary of the NPP.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP to lift Mr Agyapong’s suspension followed an appeal by Mr Agyapong for his indefinite suspension as General Secretary of the party to be reviewed to enable him to resume his role as a former General Secretary.
Mr. Agyapong during President Akufo-Addo’s re-election bid in 2020, was fixed with the Akufo-Addo campaign team throughout their tour of all sixteen (16) regions of the country.
He addressed several rallies and made a case in support of the President’s plea to Ghanaians to renew his mandate of office.
