The NDC Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, has declared victory for his party ahead of the 2020 elections during a campaign event in the North.
The former President based his confidence on an internal poll of the party.
According to him, the poll suggests that, NDC is the choice of the people in the December 7 elections.
“An opinion poll was carried and more than 60% of Ghanaians said that they are worse off today than they were in 2016”.
Mahama was quoted as saying during a campaign rally in Northern Ghana by Starr News report.
“NDC; I’m convinced we will win the elections,” he added.
Mahama further noted that per analyses of the poll, the party would secure the majority in Parliament.
The former president’s confidence about NDC’s chances in the elections comes on the publication of two separate surveys that called the polls for the NDC.
Meanwhile, one of the surveys conducted by the political science department of the University of Ghana said that Mahama will loose the elections.
According to the survey, Akufo-Addo would secure the polls with 51.7 percent of valid votes cast, while Mahama would secure 40.4 percent of the votes.
