On December 1, individuals who sent their names for a special vote were encouraged to cast their ballots.
According to the Electoral Commission ( EC), if they skip the December 1 poll, they won’t be able to do so.
Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, Director of Electoral Services at the EC, clarified that the Commission exempted from the main registry, to be used on the day of elections, individuals who sent their names for special ballots in the December polls.
In an interview on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofo hosted by Captain Wise, he said, “If you sent your name to take part in the special ballot, then be prepared to vote on December 1 … you can’t vote on December 7 because your name has been excluded from the voting list for the main exercise …”
According to him, this action was done by the EC as part of an attempt to ensure that the voting process was smooth.
In October, the EC demanded representatives of the security forces, media staff operating outside their control on election day, and election officials to send their information for the special voting exercise in order to be filmed.
Dr. Quaicoe has re-echoed the resolution of the commission to prohibit the casting of the votes by 30,000.
In the corresponding exercise of registration, any excluded by the EC will also not be tolerated as part of the sanctions laid down by the electoral governing body.
