The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has filed a motion seeking confirmation of seizure and freezing orders of the financial assets of former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah.

The motion was filed at the High Court on Monday, September 11, 2023.

A hearing has been slated for October 18, 2023.

The former minister’s Cedi and Dollar bank accounts were frozen by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on August 9, but the judgment was overturned by the Accra High Court on August 31.

The court ordered that cash confiscated from the former minister be returned to her within seven days, and it also ordered that Cecilia Dapaah’s accounts be unfrozen.

The OSP then used its authority to recover control of the money, just days after the High Court ordered the agency to return the confiscated funds.
