Ghana has become the first country in ECOWAS to deploy a system for digital verification of COVID-19 test results as the Health Ministries has announced to implement the system prior to travel and upon arriving.
In a statement sighted by bibinionline.com, the Ministry of Health said the technology platform, powered jointly by the Ghana Health Service and the PanaBIOS Consortium, covers all the authorized COVID-19 PCR testing.
Moreover, MOH has urged laboratories in the country to help stop the circulation of fake test results.
Similarly, if left unchecked would damage the country’s effort to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 infection through imported cases.
“Travelers arriving in the country must use a tool made available through the UNDP-supported Global Haven partnership (www.globalhaven.org).
This however, for Covid-19 PCR test results certificate verification,” MOH said in the release.
According to the Ministry, All travelers are strongly encouraged to sign up for accounts on trustedtravel.panabios.org with the same e-mail address and mobile numbers they provided to the laboratories during testing.
