The best of the country’s musical talents will assemble at Kwahu to give roisterers a treat of a lifetime at the second edition of ‘Bliss on the Hills’.
The week-long music festival will witness live performances from over 28 Ghanaian highlife, hiplife, dancehall and gospel artistes.
The legendary rapper Obrafuor, sensational group PRAYE and the evergreen VVIP complete are some of the top hiplife artistes to make Christmas in the ‘Abetifi Republic’ an unforgettable experience.
Bliss on the Hills 2018, an initiative organised by Kwahu Republic in collaboration with Media Excel Productions, begins on Christmas Day, December 25, and will run through to the 31, last day of the year.
Speaking in an interview with The Publisher, Kwesi Ernest revealed this year’s edition will see the introduction of an international boxing event on Boxing Day between Braima Kamoko popularly known as Bukom Banku and Kabiru Towolawi in an international Cruiser Weight contest.
“The Kwahu for decades, is famed for hosting thousands every year during the Easter festivities. However, with a successful organisation of the first edition of the music festival in 2017, Kwahu appears have fired the signal for party goers to converge there again in an unusual time of the year, Christmas,” he noted.
Bliss on the Hills will welcome music lovers on Christmas Day with Gospel concert top artistes including Yaw Sarpong, Kofi Sarpong, Francis Amo, Cece Twum, Diana Asamoah, Gifty Osei, Obaapa Christy, and Kesewa.
The festival is intended to create and promote sustainable businesses and open up job opportunities for the people of the Eastern Region through the arts.
According to the organizers, a reggae and dancehall music concert will also take place on Saturday, December 29.
Dancehall artistes billed for the show are Ras Kuuku, Jupitar, Samini, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and a host of others. This year concert will witness one International Act, Jamaican superstar Tarrus Riley.
