President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revoked Mary Boatemaa Marfo ‘s nomination as Chief Executive of the Ashanti Region’s Sekyere East District.
In a letter written by Kwasi Boateng Adjei, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, the President’s decision automatically takes place in line with Article 243(3)(b) of the 1992 Constitution.
The decision is suspected to have been motivated by a new tape reported to have been leaked by help from the DCE.
In the December 7 votes, Mary Boatemaa Marfo stayed tight-lipped on the suspected leaked tape of her bid for electors to vote for skirt and blouse.
Akoma FM investigations tracked one Owusu Nkrumah to the source of the leaked tape, an aid to Mary Boatemaa.
“Yes, I am the author of the leaked tape,” Owusu admitted on Tuesday, September 22, on Akoma FM’s morning show, GhanAkoma.
“I filmed and leaked the tape because I have not been handled equally by Ms. Mary Boatemaa, whom I have worked for many years.”
Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin, the host, asked him about the reason for the DCE recording.
“I asked her who we should vote for because I wanted to know my place and where to cast my vote, but after some reasons, because she was not good for me, I let the cat out of the bag,” he answered.
However, the DCE will neither affirm the claim nor refute it.
On GhanAkoma, she told Kofi Asante Ennin that she had reserved all remarks from her legal staff until further notice.
“I was told by my attorneys to prohibit me from speaking on the alleged leaked tape. I’m not going to finish a word,’ she finished, when her phone line went off.
In the alleged leaked tape, the DCE encourages the people of Effiduase Asokore to vote in the parliamentary election on 7 December against the incumbent MP, Dr. Ayew Afriyie.
Ashanti ‘s National Service System Regional Chief, Opoku Mensah, protested to the president of the DCE if she was found guilty.
A lose talk has been given by the DCE and I am very disappointed in her on condition that the accusations are real. I hope she’ll be free of all these problems, but if it turns out to be real, she ‘s going to have to justify her post because we don’t encourage skirt and blouse voting in the NPP, he said.
