President Akufo-Addo in a state of shock has reacted to the death of former President Flt. Lft. Jerry John Rawlings.
In a statement released on social media, Akufo-Addo called on all flags to fly at half-mast for the next 7 days.
He also declared 7 days of national mourning from Friday, November 13 to Friday, November 20, 2020.
The Akufo-Addo led administration stated that in honour of the memory of Rawlings, all campaign activities hace been suspended in same period of mourning until the 7 days is over.
The President also revealed that the government would be working closely with the family of late JJ Rawlings for the arrangements of a befitting state funeral.
It also said it will inform the nation accordingly.
